Privacy policy

Privacy-sensitive data or personal data is processed via this website. We attach great importance to a careful handling of personal data. Personal data is therefore carefully processed and secured by us.

Tactile Reading uses Yellenge services for the conference you wish to attend. You can therefore use an app and this website before, during and after the conference.

Royal Visio (Koninklijke Visio) is responsible for data processing on behalf of the Tactile Reading Conference. In this privacy statement, we explain which personal data we collect, use and for what purpose we use it. Please read this statement carefully. If questions arise, you can contact us.

1. Conditions for processing personal data

In processing personal data, we adhere to the requirements set by privacy legislation. For you specifically, this means that we consider the following points important and therefore comply with them:

  1. we clearly state for what purposes we process personal data. You can read about this in more detail later in this privacy statement;
  2. we limit the collection of personal data to data that is necessary for legitimate purposes;
  3. we ask for explicit permission to process your personal data in cases where special consent is required for this;
  4. we take appropriate security measures at all times to protect your personal data and we also require the same from parties that process personal data on our behalf. Where necessary, this is laid down in so-called separate "processing agreements";
  5. we make it possible to provide your personal data for inspection, correction or removal at any time.
    In this privacy statement you can read how Tactile Reading puts these core values into practice and respects and protects your right to privacy.

2. Use of personal data

2.1 Use of the website

You can register as a participant for the conference via this website. When you register, you will be asked to provide the following personal data:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • Function
  • Organization

Tactile Reading needs this information to check who has registered for the conference. Tactile Reading also needs this information to be able to send you an e-Ticket and/or an e-Invoice for the Event.

2.2 Use of the app

If you use the app before, during or after the conference, your personal data will be processed via the app. If desired, you can also enrich your profile data via the app (for example, by uploading a profile photo). Depending on the functionalities you use via the app, the following personal data may be processed:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • Function
  • Organization

When installing the app, minimum access rights for your device are requested. You can also (optionally) give access to your device's camera, so that you can take photos via the app and possibly share them with others. You can change the access rights at any time via your device's settings.

3. Advertising

In addition to the information on our website, we can also inform you of developments surrounding the conference: by e-mail, via social media, push notifications, telephone, app or other means of communication. This only happens if you have given explicit permission for this. You can withdraw this permission at any time.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

We may engage other parties to process your data. Insofar as those other parties process data for the services of the Tactile Reading Conference, they do so as processors and we have concluded an agreement with those parties. Insofar as those other parties themselves determine the purposes and means of processing data, they do so as the controller. This also means that they must have a legal basis for processing your data. We are not responsible for the processing of your data by those parties. This privacy statement does not apply to it. In the event of suspected fraud or abuse, we may be asked to hand over personal data to the competent authorities.

5. Security

We have taken various security measures to protect your personal data. For example, a secure internet connection is used. This protects the information you enter via the website and/or the app from third parties. The systems used are also regularly updated and their security is regularly tested. Security has our constant care and attention.

6. Retention Periods

30 days after the end of the event, your personal data will be automatically removed from the systems by means of a so-called ‘flush’. Tactile Reading also backs up regularly so that your personal data can be restored in the event of a catastrophic failure. These backups are kept for a period of 14 days. It is therefore possible that your data will be stored in a backup for some time (for a maximum period of 14 days) after the system has been ‘flushed’.

7. Cookies

Cookies are placed when you use this website. Cookies are also placed via third parties engaged by us. A cookie is a simple, small text file that is stored on your device when you visit the website. The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers or those of the relevant third parties on a subsequent visit. No cookies are placed on your device when you use the app.

You are free to disable cookies through your browser. Keep in mind that it is possible the event site will no longer work optimally. The event site uses:

  • Functional cookies to ensure that certain parts of the event site work properly and that your user session is preserved during your visit to the event site.

Agreements have been made with third parties that place cookies about the use of the collected personal data. Nevertheless, Tactile Reading does not have full control over what these third parties do with the personal data obtained. See the privacy statement of the relevant parties for more information about how they handle your data (please note: this can change regularly).

8. Google Analytics

We do not use Google Analytics or other analysis programs to keep track of how visitors use our website.

9. Third Party Websites

On this website you will also find links to websites of other parties or references are made to us. Although we carefully select and monitor these relationships, we are not responsible for the processing of your data via these websites. This privacy statement does not apply to it.

10. Access and change your data

Under the privacy legislation you have a number of rights with regard to your personal data. For example, you can request to view, change or delete your personal data. You can also ask to provide a data export of personal data that Tactile Reading processes about you, or state with reasons that you want to limit the processing of personal data. To prevent abuse, Tactile Reading may ask you to identify yourself.

When viewing your personal data, you may also copy, store or distribute this data, but this is your own responsibility. You can contact us directly if you have a question about how Tactile Reading handles your personal data. See our contact details at the end of this privacy and cookie statement.

We are happy to help if you have any questions about the processing of your personal data. According to privacy legislation, you also have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority ('Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens') about our processing of your personal data. You can contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority for this.
